Missing In Action..

Yeah I know...No new post lately..but I have a very good excuse. The crochet hat that I made for Sailor became a very hot item and I have been extremely busy. A good kind of busy. I love seeing all the different colors you guys want and can only imagine how ADORABLE these kids look in these hats. Here is a preview:

Also I made some new stockings for ......MYSELF! Yee haw!!!!

Ignore the fact that I haven't decorated anything else for Christmas yet...This is a start. I wanted a new look this year without breaking our bank account.

I leave you with a shot that my little mystery camera stealer photographer took and busted herself...check out the reflection in the playroom T.V. screen. HEHE!

Weekly update!

I know...I know, I haven't had a post in awhile but I thought the craziness would calm down a bit. Our daily routine consist of: Up at 5:45am, coffee, check and respond to emails, tweets, facebook, pick up the house from the night before, start laundry, peel the kids out of bed at 7:15am and start breakfast, school until 11:40am, lunch, more school until whenever I get finished, more cleaning up, work on orders for about 2-3 hours, then guess what...Time to start dinner(supper). Squeeze in a few temper tantrums, fights, boo-boos, phone calls, more laundry and a couple of spilled drinks after I had just mopped the kitchen floor and Whaalaa, you have my day. Keep me on my toes!
I have had alot going on so I will let the pictures tell the story.

1.) I made homemade biscuits for the first time in FOREVER..YEAH! 2.)Working on new items for my etsy shop that is opening soon! I love cute bibs!

3.) Crocheted these cuties...(alot of em')
4.) Working on a project involving this...

5.) Making alot of these babies...

6.) And finally trying to understand why men around here buy lots of expensive camo, sprays, and deer stands that they have to sit in the freezing cold weather and not move a muscle only NOT to see what I see out of kitchen window almost EVERY morning and evening..HEHE!

Picture taken on my back porch with my hot pink pajama pants and white t- shirt on ,while yelling at the kids to look at this big buck in our yard......POINT MADE!

Trick and Treatin'

I really can't believe it is November!

Halloween has come and gone and we are looking Thanksgiving head-on...

Anyway, we had a great weekend full of Weenie Roasts and Trick or Treating. It will be hard waking the kids up for school after a wide open night of running up and down streets on sugar highs. I also finished a very cool crochet cap for Sailor this weekend too. I got the pattern from Polka Dot Posh on etsy. I think it turned put pretty cute considering I re-did it about 4 times..

Then it was time for dress-up...

FINAL DECISIONS

pink owl (tutorial here), karate kid, hillbilly all made by yours truely..

Then the crazy people came out...
Just kiddin' Jeremy..We loved it!

A Get-Away and please get away!

So the husband and I decided to take a vaca for our 10 year anniversary . 10 years is a milestone and we intended to celebrate! We had a nice 24 hour trip to Savannah, GA because that's how we roll. Short trips are usually better because you HAVE to see and do as much as you can in a short amount of time, You appreciate things more, you don't spend as much money and you don't wear your babysitter out too much.

Savannah is lovely and they love them some Paula Deen. Yes, we ate at her restaurant (The Lady and Sons)at 9:30pm Friday night because we had no kids with us and we could eat as late as we wanted and what we wanted. YEAH!! It was delish!

Saturday, we took a trolley tour of the city and did alittle shopping and more eating. Then it was back in the plane and heading home. We were glad to see the kids and I think my mom was glad to see us. She gladly watched the kids while we were gone but again we didn't want to wear anybody out by leaving them too long. We know our limits!!!

Sunday afternoon we decided to go a local non-pumpkin patch- pumpkin patch. No typo, it really was a pumpkin patch with no pumpkins planted. There were a few activities for the kids

and adults (HUMMM,HUMM)

but the excitement of the afternoon was when Sailor(my daughter) stole my camera and HARASSED the sweet, young, childless, unmarried couple in front of us on the hayride. I had no idea she had taken these pictures until I down loaded them. I wondered why he so graciously asked if he could hold my camera to take our picture. Poor couple...

I think there were at least 547 pictures of them on my camera and I have no idea who they are.
If you are the couple and you are reading this..I am so very SORRY! If you know this couple...please tell them , I am so very SORRY. HAHA! I can't help but laugh because they were really nice and cute!

Thank you sir for the sweet picture of the brat Sailor and me!!!:)

Madness Update

Whew! What a hot and crazy weekend. I am glad to be back in the swing of things around the house and I think my husband is glad too! While we worked our booth at Mint Hill Madness this year, the husbands kept the children....YEEHAWWW! I really did miss them and I think I was missed according to the laundry piled up and the tornado that passed through the middle of my house.
It was hot!!!At least 93 degrees and humid when we were setting up but we made it with the help of Hannah's husband Ryan and the great people in charge of Mint Hill Madness. Overall, the booth turned out precious and despite the lack of traffic, we did OK. The best part was being a few boothes down from Daphne's Simply Southern Bakery. Their stuff is GREAT! The worse part was some really bad Taylor Swift karaoke...ALL DAY... FOR 2 DAYS.
Thank you to everyone who purchased from us and stopped by to see our little nest.
We still have some of the things in the pictures available, so if you are interested contact my email errol814@msn.com and I will be glad to get these items to you.

My husband (Travis) also ran in the 5K Saturday morning. He did great and now he is regretting it! Hats off to everybody in that race...it was hot!

Mint Hill Madness

So I took the plunge and decided to have a booth in my first ever festival in fall. The Mint Hill Madness is in the fall every year in (you guessed it) Mint Hill, NC. My sister-in-law and I decided to enter our booth this year and see what happens. Hannah will have the cutest most elegant refinished furniture for children and the home and I will have my usual burp diapers and hair flowers. I have a few extra surprises as well!
So if you are in the area, stop by and visit us at mcgeemommy!

Organization Please!

I love organization! But....I am not an organized person, Nope, not even close! I wait until a situation gets so far out of hand that I can't function anymore or get so embarrassed to have people see my mess that something has to be done.It drives my husband crazy that I am unorganized but that is the pot calling the kettle black. That's why we make a good pair (hehe) That was the case with my sewing/play room. I know what you are thinking..."You have your sewing room IN the playroom?" Yes, it just kidda happened that way. Alot like my sewing, it just happened! The kids have learn(the hard way) not to touch mommy's things. It is working pretty good so far... I am very lucky to have a large space in our house to work and play at the same time but that tends to result in tiny tornadoes passing through everyday creating MESS! I still would not trade it.
I have no before pictures for good reason so I am posting the after pictures

AHHHH..I love it!

This makes me HAPPY!

I even have one of these beauties...

The girls area...

The boys area...

This transformation took 2 days and I am beat. I started with repainting all the walls and trim. I used Silvermist from Sherwin Williams paints. It is a blue/green beachy color and I love it!

We also celebrated the boys birthday this week. C is now 7 and E is now 9. Since their birthdays are 2 days apart, we have a party for them together. Carter wanted a Cherry Dump Cake for his birthday and Errol wanted a ballgame for his. Recipe

2 cans of Cherry pie filling

1 can of Crushed Pineapple (not drained)

1 box of yellow cake mix

1 stick of marg/butter (melted)

Mix cherry pie filling and pineapple together in dish. Sprinkle about 3/4 of a box of yellow cake mix on top. Spoon melted butter on top.

Bake @ 350 until cake mix in brown and crunchy on top.

Easy right? Thank you Carter!

Camo cake and softball game was perfect. I love a kids ballgame. They take it so serious and played even after the ball field lights would not work and it got completely dark . I wish I had their energy.
