Organization Please!

I love organization! But....I am not an organized person, Nope, not even close! I wait until a situation gets so far out of hand that I can't function anymore or get so embarrassed to have people see my mess that something has to be done.It drives my husband crazy that I am unorganized but that is the pot calling the kettle black. That's why we make a good pair (hehe) That was the case with my sewing/play room. I know what you are thinking..."You have your sewing room IN the playroom?" Yes, it just kidda happened that way. Alot like my sewing, it just happened! The kids have learn(the hard way) not to touch mommy's things. It is working pretty good so far... I am very lucky to have a large space in our house to work and play at the same time but that tends to result in tiny tornadoes passing through everyday creating MESS! I still would not trade it.
I have no before pictures for good reason so I am posting the after pictures

AHHHH..I love it!

This makes me HAPPY!

I even have one of these beauties...

The girls area...

The boys area...

This transformation took 2 days and I am beat. I started with repainting all the walls and trim. I used Silvermist from Sherwin Williams paints. It is a blue/green beachy color and I love it!

We also celebrated the boys birthday this week. C is now 7 and E is now 9. Since their birthdays are 2 days apart, we have a party for them together. Carter wanted a Cherry Dump Cake for his birthday and Errol wanted a ballgame for his. Recipe

2 cans of Cherry pie filling

1 can of Crushed Pineapple (not drained)

1 box of yellow cake mix

1 stick of marg/butter (melted)

Mix cherry pie filling and pineapple together in dish. Sprinkle about 3/4 of a box of yellow cake mix on top. Spoon melted butter on top.

Bake @ 350 until cake mix in brown and crunchy on top.

Easy right? Thank you Carter!

Camo cake and softball game was perfect. I love a kids ballgame. They take it so serious and played even after the ball field lights would not work and it got completely dark . I wish I had their energy.

Summers End

So these summer days are winding down. It will be time to start back to school before you know it. It seems like a few days ago I was posting about summer was a comin' and how I love all the excitement. We have lots of birthdays in August to celebrate and I see it as an excuse to bid summer farewell with many parties. Cake, ice cream, softball games and Popsicles of course. Can you believe it is August already?
Anyway, I have been busy at work with lots of special orders. I am posting a few pictures of some of those and ya'll are some creative people. I love to try new patterns and ideas. Sometimes it may take awhile to "nail" them. (because I am a perfectionist when it comes to sewing) The superhero capes seem to be Numero Uno on the list of orders.

Then I got a special request from a friend (who is an art teacher and very good at it) for an art apron or smock for her children. To be honest, sometimes I have no confidence in my sewing skills because I am self-taught. I was NERVOUS about this one. I got a pattern from here
and went to work. After I was half way through...I WAS IN LOVE! I love, love, love this idea. Thank you Kirsten for your suggestion and I hope you love them as much as I do!

Annnnndddd...As you know (if you live in the South ) it is peach season. I love fresh peaches so I made this beautiful peach delight this past Sunday. Is was delicious and easy to make.
